During the period between 2012-2019 Dr. Khaled Hilal participated in the structural design of several bridges and tunnels in and outside Egypt as a member of SICE " Saad International Consultant Engineers" team.
The cable stayed bridge crossing the Nile River to connect Shoubra to El-Warrak island as a part of Rod El-Farag Corridor project. The bridge total length is 540m with 300 m main span. The main span has a composite deck, while the side-spans have post-tensioned concrete decks. It is considered to be one of the widest bridges in the world with a width between 64m up to 88m.
Ismailia bridge has a total length of 2.5 km with spans ranging between 25 - 50 m. The deck system comprises of precast girders for the main bridge and post-tensioned box girders for the ramps.
Abu-Soltan Bridge crosses Cairo -Ismailia road. It comprises of 4 spans ranging from 28-34 m. The deck system is pre-cast girders made continuous.
The two bridges over cross the historical Kebash Road in Luxer. The two bridges were part of the UNESCO project on the reinstatement of the Kebash Road between El-Karnak and Luxer temples without causing traffic interruption. The deck is a composite steel deck with 50m main span.
King Abdulaziz Road Bridge is 700 m long and 26 m wide. The deck structural system is post-tensioned box girder. The spans range between 42 -64 m.
